About instructor

IMG_2452_(small_for_web).jpgHello! 大家好!

I am Ms. Liu, 刘老师. I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese at Snowden International School for more than ten years. Snowden is a small Boston public high school located in Copley Square, downtown Boston. The school offers Chinese, Japanese, French and Spanish. With current enrollment around 400, about one fourth of the students takes Chinese classes.

I earned my Bachelor degree in Chinese Teaching from Capital Normal University (formerly Beijing Normal College) and Master degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University (formerly Lesley College) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I believe that my education has prepared me for teaching in Boston city schools and led my students to academic success.

I welcome every student to my class. I value everyone's efforts that put into Chinese language learning. By working together, I hope all my students can discover and realize their potentials. As a language teacher, not only I teach students Chinese language but also make China trip a reality for my students. Since 2004 with the support from Freeman Foundation and the Phelex Foundation, I have led 42 students and 9 teachers on 5 separate trips to China. My advice to my students is: Don't let opportunity slip away because 机不可失,时不再来.
